Giving Birth – Are You Equipped For Your Baby’s Arrival?
Are you really prepared for your newborn baby? Have you done all the things you need to do? Have you bought all the necessary items that your baby will need? Has your car been serviced recently? If not, you should definitely need to get this done as fast as possible. Send your car to the mechanics and make sure everything’s in safe, working order. Getting a baby capsule for the car is also another essential task. Ask around for accredited installers.
You may also with to install sun shades on your car windows to ensure that the harsh sunlight does not damage your baby’s delicate eyes and skin.
Try to find time to reward, enjoy and endulge yourself during this phase as it will only get more demanding later on. Why not take a short trip with your loved-one? This may be the last time you will be able to take just one overnight bag for a weekend trip. If time is short, book a nice restaurant and have a romantic dinner and movie instead.
If you have any time before your baby arrives, getting all your household paper work done is probably a good idea – I guarantee you won’t have much time later on! Get that car insurance bill out of the way along with any other outstanding bills, and file it all neatly. You will thank yourself for staying organized at a later date, and so will your partner.
Most important of all would be to take care of your other household members, namely: your family dog or cat. This is the time to get your furry friend worming and flea treatment as well as other required injections. Keeping them healthy results in further safety to your newborn, so a thorough medical check wouldn’t be such a bad idea at all. It is also a time when you might need to think about the safety of your baby with pets in the home. Do you need to install some safety gates to prevent your dog from getting dangerously close to your baby?
Walking the pet is while pushing your baby may not be easy either. You might want to pass on the responsibility to someone else in the family temporarily till things settle down.
A safe and clean home environment is crucial for your baby so make sure that your dog is properly trained prior to the baby’s arrival to avoid any disasters later on.
