Neuropathic pain encompasses a variety of painful disease states which are difficult to treat with one single medication only. Analgesics used for neuropathic pain treatment fall into the categories of anticonvulsants, antidepressants, opioids and topical agents. There is no single gold standard medication, although the mainstays of pharmacological treatment of neuropathic pain are antidepressant and anticonvulsant drugs. Here a review of our centre approach based on integrated medicine.
